A unique stone from the time of Emperor Nill ero wbe shown for the first time in Akve Calide

A unique exhibit will be exhibited for viewing from 2 to 30 November at the Museum in Akve Khalidé. It is a stone from the time of Emperor Nero, which was found during the archaeological excavations at the tourist complex.

Visitors to the Acqua Calide Museum will also be the first to see the stone of Emperor Nero, as he has not been shown to an audience since he was in a research period.

The uniqueness of the find comes from the fact that it marks a turning point in the current scientific hypothesis of the beginning of the construction of the Roman baths in Akve Khalidé. Until recently, it was supposed that the thermal complex was built by Emperor Trajan in the 2nd century AD, as the other Roman baths in the region were built at that time.

After discovering and reading the inscription on the stone, the lower chronological boundary of the Roman sites in Akve Kallide shifted in the early part of the second half of the 1st century AD. as this is illustrated by Nero's inscription to build a bathroom. According to N. Sharrankov, the beginning of Akve Khalid is dated between 60 and 68 AD. The investigator assumes that it is possible that the bathroom was built around 61 when Nero builds roads and road stations in the province of Thrace.

Archeological studies led by archaeologist Prof. Dimcho Momchilov reveal several structures in the middle of the 1st century. Among them is a marble basin. Five Steps from its eastern end are located just outside the entrance of Suleiman's Bath - today's museum. The greater part of this facility remains under the foundations of the Turkish bath.

The Akve Kallide TK Museum will be open in November from 9am to 5pm, no day off. The cost of visiting the museum is 4 BGN for a regular ticket, 2 BGN for students and retirees and includes a projection of a 3D camper film.

The exposition is realized with the kind partnership of the Regional Museum of History - Burgas.
