Elenite Waste Water Treatment Plant was depleted and without a license

A surprise inspection of a Wastewater Treatment Plant (EMS) - Elenite has found that it does not have a WSS operator license but collects fees. The water is cleaned without a permit.

According to inspectors, the capacity of the treatment plant is depleted, and additional quantities are accepted.

From documents from previous inspections of the regional ecological inspectorate it can be seen that the effect of wastewater treatment is unsatisfactory and the quality of coastal seawater does not meet the norms. For the established excesses, sanctions amounting to more than BGN 4 million have been imposed for each inspection, and the interest reaches BGN 5 690 894.
