Mosque and chapel being built in Sungurlare

Following a decision by Sungurlare’s municipal council, the status of a municipal property will be changed to turn it into a mosque.

The area is a parcel in Kamchia village, set aside for greenery in the municipal development plan. The village’s fewer than 80 inhabitants will enjoy the new addition.

Sungurlare Municipality is governed for a second term by Mayor Georgi Kenov from the MFR party. By his suggestion a year earlier, a 754sq.m private municipal parcel was donated to the Sliven Eparchy so they could build a chapel in Chubra village. 550 people live in Chubra, most of whom are Christian believers.
