Complex tracheal surgery in Bourgas hospital was rescued half strangled 18-year-old patient.
The girl admitted to hospital on October 30th - last Wednesday after she went to have fun kart track in the city. The girl was with a scarf, which at high speed is wrapped around the tire of the car and began strangle her. She managed to tear the fabric, but received serious injuries.
"In trying to make tracheostomy proved that the trachea just gone. We assumed that the injury is more serious than we thought. We decided to do emergency surgery - had opened, revealing the entire larynx and trachea. We found that the trachea was just cut - cut off from the larynx and pulled lung. It is surprising how ever there was breathing, "explained Deputy Director of the Bourgas hospital - neurosurgeon Dr. Svetlozar Georgiev. The operation was performed by him and the head of the ENT department Dr. Daniel Petkov.
In operation torn trachea and larynx were restored. They are placed and drenches to expand the lungs, because there was a danger of lung damage.
