New in Bourgas hospital - ultrasound removes bloodless stones in the urethra and bladder

Apparatus bloodless urological operations in Bourgas hospital is now upgraded with devices that allow degradation and removal of stones in the urethra and bladder.

The manipulation is called intra corporeal lithotripsy and is covered by the Health Insurance Fund. This is a bloodless manipulation without incisions and pain for the patient.

By the intra corporeal lithotripsy is inserted into the urethra flexible tube – urethra scope, that is a part of an optical system. The surgeon sees the stone and breaks it with ultrasound energy. Usually this kind of manipulation apply when the results of other treatments are not satisfactory, including extracorporeal breaking stones
